Dog policy

Officially, exceptionally dog friendly - following a successful three-month trial launched in October 2023, dogs are now permanently welcome during general opening hours, even at services with designated seating (Nave West End, South Presbytery in the Quire, or Chapels), one dog per visitor, on a short lead; not permitted at ticketed events or inside the Morley Library, Crypt or café (though the café has dog-friendly outdoor seating)

About

One of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe, built between 1079 and 1532, with over 900 years serving as a living place of worship - genuinely famous for its Norman crypt (which floods seasonally, home to a striking Antony Gormley sculpture standing in the water) and its role as the resting place of Jane Austen.
