About

Discovered by chance in 1835, genuinely Kent's greatest unsolved mystery - 70 feet of winding underground passages decorated with an astonishing 4.6 million shells (whelks, cockles, limpets, winkles, oysters and scallops) forming intricate patterns of gods, goddesses and trees of life, with absolutely no definitive explanation of who built it or why.
