A well-regarded gastropub and hotel in the village of Beckford near Tewkesbury, an 18th-century coaching inn once owned by Birmingham brewers Davenports - during severe flash flooding on the A46 in July 2007, 23 stranded travellers had to wade through three feet of water to reach the inn, where they were given hot drinks, soup and sandwiches.
