About
A Grade II listed pub beside the River Thames at Lechlade, begun in 1220 as an almshouse for workers building the adjoining St John's Bridge, later part of a priory before becoming an inn from 1472 - a proper, unpretentious Cotswold pub, its interior "design" centred on a grandfather clock and a 7kg taxidermy pike caught here in 1902.
