The Viaduct Tavern is a Victorian gin palace on Newgate Street, opposite the Old Bailey, with an ornate interior of etched glass, mirrors and painted panels. It's a short walk from St Paul's Cathedral and Smithfield, and a good stop on a walk through the old City.
