Dog policy

Officially, extensively dog friendly since a successful 2023 trial made the policy permanent - "visitors can bring their well-behaved four-legged friends into the Cathedral building and grounds" on a short lead, joining Chichester, Worcester, Ely, Durham, Lincoln and Wells in this initiative; not permitted on guided tours, mini talks, or at services (assistance dogs only), and only assistance dogs in the on-site Lounge café, though other well-behaved dogs are welcome in the Refectory garden when open

About

The first cathedral in England and home to the Archbishop of Canterbury, the most senior cleric in the Church of England - a UNESCO World Heritage Site with soaring towers, intricate medieval carving and awe-inspiring stained glass, and the site of Thomas Becket's 1170 murder, still marked by the Corona Chapel built to house a relic of his skull.
