Dog policy
Historically confirmed dog friendly under its previous name (The Windwhistle Inn) with plenty of garden space for dogs to run off energy after lunch - not yet independently reconfirmed under the new July 2026 ownership, so worth double-checking current policy before visiting
About
A 17th-century inn on the A30 between Chard and Crewkerne, set in 5 acres of maintained gardens - formerly The Windwhistle Inn, it closed and reopened twice within a year before being bought by Cricket St Thomas Golf Club and reopening under its current name on 1 July 2026, once referenced by Thomas Hardy in his 1902 poem "A Trampwoman's Tragedy".
