A proper drinkers' pub and a North Somerset institution, tucked away up a bank in the village of Churchill. Multi-roomed former cottage with log fires and stone floors. Five to six local ales served on gravity straight from the barrel; real ciders including Thatchers. Lunchtimes only: hearty homemade soups, beef casserole and chilli served with crusty bread. Dogs welcome throughout on leads, with water bowls dotted around the pub. Ideal stop after a walk at Dolebury Warren or Rowberrow Warren.
