About
A genuinely stunning Romanesque cathedral begun in 1079, home to the world-famous Mappa Mundi (a UNESCO-listed medieval map of the world created around 1300) and the largest surviving library of chained books in the world, including the Hereford Gospels dating from around 800 CE - a real 14th-century bell is still in use today, discovered on the cathedral's own tower tour.
