Dog policy

Officially, exceptionally dog friendly - the pub's own resident Miniature Schnauzer, Mr Jones, oversees "dog manoeuvres" and has his own named ale, brewed exclusively by Plymouth brewer Summerskills, plus a genuine "A La Bark" doggy menu of dinners, drinks and puds designed by Mr Jones himself

About

Reputedly Plymouth's second oldest pub, "a country pub in the city" just above the Mayflower Steps in the area where the 14th-century Plymouth Castle once stood - part of the original castle walls still stand inside the pub itself, with an open fire, candlelit tables and one of Plymouth's largest whisky collections (over 60 Scottish single malts).
