About

Wadebridge's oldest and finest watering hole, a beautiful 16th-century Cornish coaching inn named after the Molesworth family (Auditors to the Duchy of Cornwall under Queen Elizabeth in the late 1500s) - the town's original passenger railway, commissioned by Sir William Molesworth in 1831, famously carried 400 passengers on its maiden 1834 journey, with a second locomotive accidentally named "Elephant" when the manufacturer mistook "Camel" (the river) for an animal.
