Dog policy

Officially, extensively dog friendly since 17 July 2023 - "we're paw-sitively delighted to welcome visitors' four-legged companions", voted Most Dog Friendly Cathedral in the UK 2025 by The Sunday Times; dogs welcome throughout the Cathedral and grounds, with café tables in the Cloister or Chapter House (though not inside the Cloister Café shop itself, on tours, in the crypt, or up the tower), and doggy treats available in the Cathedral Shop

About

A genuinely exceptional cathedral on the banks of the River Severn, with fine cloisters, a particularly impressive chapter house, and the tomb of King John - visitors can climb the tower for sweeping views, and the annual pet blessing service has featured on TV twice, with live animals in the Christmas Eve crib service each year drawing thousands.
