Dog policy
Officially, exceptionally dog friendly - "such an old pub, no carpets, only flagstone flooring, so dogs can lie down on the cool floor and chill out", with a dedicated Doggie Station, doggie ice cream and even doggie "beer" (nicknamed Pugweiser or Pawroni by staff), plus a jar of treats always on the counter. Dogs welcome inside (source: https://instagram.com/theofficialroyalgeorge/p/DbFuCOYnACL?hl=en%2A, Oct 2026).
About
A traditional 16th-century coaching inn in West Coker, a village once known for growing hemp and flax for "Coker Canvas" sailcloth prized by Napoleonic-era Naval Captains - all original inglenooks, log fires, slate floors and oak beams, with real ale from one of Britain's oldest breweries, Palmers of Bridport.
